Under administrative direction, the purpose of the position is to perform general laboratory tasks that support testing and operations in the Crime Laboratory of the Broward Sheriff's Office. As an ISO 17025 accredited laboratory, position must adhere to accreditation standards encompassing extensive documentation, validation of procedures, technical and administrative review of reports and case notes, etc. In addition, employees are required to participate in external proficiency testing, courtroom testimony monitoring, continued technical training, quality audits, and accreditation inspections by ANSI National Accreditation Board (ANAB), or other accrediting bodies. Under the supervision of the Crime Lab Unit Manager, employees in this classification perform highly specialized technical and scientific work which requires the accurate completion of a variety of standardized analytical tests, examinations, and procedures which may be complex in nature, but generally do not require interpretation of results. Position is responsible for the preparation, labeling, inventory, and maintenance of chemicals and equipment to ensure and protect the integrity of the testing procedures. Performs related work as directed.

The University of Massachusetts Chan Medical School (UMass Chan) seeks a highly skilled forensic science professional with strong operational leadership experience to serve as Director of the Drugs of Abuse Laboratory. Reporting to the Associate Vice Chancellor for Administration, the Director provides strategic and operational oversight of a critical forensic laboratory that supports the Massachusetts criminal justice system. This role leads a team of forensic scientists responsible for the secure handling and analysis of legal evidence and serves as the primary laboratory liaison to the Massachusetts State Police and District Attorney’s Office.
The ideal candidate will bring deep technical expertise in forensic science, strong leadership skills, and the ability to implement innovative solutions to complex challenges. The Director will ensure the highest standards of scientific integrity, guide daily operations, and contribute to the development of laboratory methods, policy, and staff expertise.

Join the Rhode Island State Crime Laboratory (RISCL), located at the University of Rhode Island (URI). The RISCL is currently seeking candidates for a Criminalist II Lead Firearm and Tool Mark Examiner position. This is a 35-hour per week position with bi-weekly pay days (26 pay periods per year).
This is a re-post of this position. The position has been re-classified from a pay grade 13 to a pay grade 15. The current yearly salary range is: $82,009 to $125,397. A cost-of-living increase of 3.25% will be applied to the salary beginning July 1, 2025. Salary range: $84,674 to $129,472.

The School of Health Sciences at Lasell University in Newton, Massachusetts seeks a highly motivated, entrepreneurial, and collaborative individual to assume the responsibilities of Assistant Professor of Forensic Science for an undergraduate FEPAC accredited Forensic Science Program. This is a full-time, non-tenure-track, 9-month appointment to begin immediately reporting to the Program Chair of Forensic Science within the School of Health Sciences. The successful candidate will join our growing undergraduate and graduate academic programs in the dynamic School of Health Sciences, established in 2018. Responsibilities:
All faculty members must report to campus a minimum of 4 days a week and will teach 4 courses (12 credits) per semester. Teaching responsibilities include forensic science courses and additional teaching assignments where expertise aligns with program needs. The candidate must have the ability to teach non-forensic science-based science courses that align with the candidates’ field of expertise. The ideal candidate should be highly experienced and skilled in undergraduate curriculum development which aligns with FEPAC accreditation standards. Course development will include didactic and laboratory instruction and assessment in forensic science and areas of disciplinary expertise. Successful candidates should demonstrate a strong commitment to teaching excellence, serving as a champion for forensic science program through positive interaction with prospective students and the public. The successful candidate will demonstrate excellence and enthusiasm in teaching and student advocacy; commitment to productivity and professional development; and active participation in school and college service that includes but is not limited to faculty standing committee work and academic advising. Student mentoring, academic advising at the undergraduate level, and new course development to support the dynamic and growing area is required.
